ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrive in Auckland

Upon arrival Self drive clients will pick up the rental car from the airport and drive to your hotel.

Overnight at hotel.

Day 2: Auckland morning sightseeing

This morning, enjoy Fullers Auckland Wine on Waiheke  (4.5hrs); What to bring, Although there's not a great deal of walking, it's a good idea to bring water, a snack/lunch, sun screen and a hat, as the island can get very hot.Wine on Waiheke is a winery tour combining world class wine set against the backdrop of stunning Waiheke Island. You'll be transported by coach travel to enjoy premium tastings at 3 of Waiheke’s finest vineyards.
The winery tour includes a return ferry trip and an All Day Bus Pass to be used at your convenience.

Self-drive passengers, enjoy your local sightseeing; Today see firsthand why Auckland is regarded as one of the best cities in the world to live in, as you enjoy this half day tour around the central city and picturesque suburbs. Journey begins with a short trip over the Harbour Bridge to the North Shore before returning to the central city to visit Queen St and the Auckland Viaduct. You will then drive along the scenic waterfront route of Tamaki Drive to the Michael Joseph Savage Memorial Park, in Mission Bay. A memorial to the first Labour Prime Minister of New Zealand and the founder of the welfare state. Michael Joseph Savage Memorial Park has panoramic views over Whenua Rangatira, Auckland city and Waitemata Harbour. This park is a popular wedding and tourist venue, with formal gardens and perfect venue for flying a fabulous array of colourful and creative kites. Then return to downtown Auckland. Highlights: Harbour Bridge, Viaduct Harbour, Queen Street, Auckland Domain, Tamaki Drive, Michael Savage Memorial.

Day 3: Auckland – Rotorua

Say Good Bye to the ‘City of Sails’ as you travel south to reach Bombay Hills and the market garden area of Pukekohe. Travel through Hamilton - New Zealand’s fourth largest city and the fertile Waikato region before reaching the ‘Thermal City’ of Rotorua.

Evening you have an option to release in the Spa (not included). Overnight at hotel (B)

Day 4: Rotorua

This morning after breakfast enjoy optional activities like; Spa, Mud bath, Gondola, Luge ride,

Evening enjoy Tamaki Maori Village, Rotorua Tamaki Maori Village Experience (Incl: 3.5 hr Maori Cultural Experience + Buffet dinner feast + Free transport to and from your Rotorua accommodation)

Be welcomed into an authentic Maori village nestled in Rotorua forest, discover Maori art forms, ancient rituals and traditions, experience thrilling song and dance, and then share in a 3 course meal with your Maori hosts.

Show Times: 6.15pm daily (5.30pm & 7.30pm if reqd). Pick up from all Rotorua city central from 5pm (4pm & 6pm if require). Overnight at hotel (B)

Day 5: Rotorua to Wellington

Today start your journey to Wellington via Taupo and along the shore of the huge lake to spectacular Tongariro National Park comprising of massive active volcanoes and site of North Island’s ski fields. From the barren land of this plateau, you descend to Palmerston North to the “Capital City”. Arrive Wellington by early evening.

Day 6: Wellington to Kaikoura via Picton

This morning after the breakfast, drive to the ferry terminal and drop your rental car at the ferry terminal Depot.   

Board the Interisland ferry from Wellington to Picton; Interislander is the New Zealand ferry service which crosses the Cook Strait between the North and South Islands of New Zealand.  The 92 km, three hour journey between Wellington and Picton is one of New Zealand's most iconic tourist experiences, and one of the most spectacular cruises in the world. Duration: 3 hrs 10mins approx.

On arrival make your way to the rental car branch at the Ferry Terminal to complete hiring formalities and pick up your rental car&travel south along the east coast to reach the seaside settlement of Kaikoura.Overnight at hotel (B)

Day 7: Kaikoura

Today you have day free to enjoy local sightseeing or Whale watch cruise.  Overnight at hotel.

Day 8: Kaikoura to Christchurch

Depart Kaikoura and travel south along the east coast to reach the garden city of Christchurch. Overnight at hotel.

Day 9: Christchurch to Mt. cook

Today depart Christchurch and travel through diverse farmland to Lake Tekapo, where you can view the solitary Church of the Good Shepherd. Leaving Tekapo, continue towards Aoraki/Mt Cook National Park, home to New Zealand's tallest mountain, arriving at Aoraki/Mt Cook.Overnight at hotel.

Day 10: Mt. cook to Queenstown

After breakfast enjoy morning at leisure.Enjoy optional activities like;  Glacier explore boat ride, Heli ride, Big Sky Stargazingetc (not included).

Later drive to Queenstown; Leaving Mt. Cook travel South through the rugged high country landscape of the Mackenzie Basin and continue the Journey through Omarama to Lindis Pass and skirting the shores of Lake Dustan. Continue your journey through famous fruit growing region of Cromwell to gold mining region of Kawarau river Gorge before reaching Alpine city Queenstown. Overnight at hotel.

Day 11: Queenstown

Today you may choose to travel around Queenstown and visit many of the city's highlights including Lake Hayes, AJ Hackett Bungy Bridge, HistoricArrowtown& Edith Cavell Bridge(activities not included). Overnight at hotel.  

Day 12: Queenstown

Today you have day free for leisure; enjoy optional activities like Gondola, Shotover jet, Bungy, Rafting, heli ride, Spa etc. Overnight at hotel.   

Day 13: Queenstown

Toda you have an option to visit Wanaka. Drive north to Wanaka. On arrival you have an optional activities like; U fly, Puzzling world, Sky dive, Kayak etc. evening return back to your hotel in Queenstown. Overnight in hotel. (B)

Day 14: Queenstown

Enjoy the drive to visit Glenorchy; A true slice of paradise sits a spectacular 45-minute drive west of Queenstown at the end of Lake Wakatipu.Surrounded by magnificent snow (subject to weather)-capped mountains, pristine lakes and rivers, ancient beech forests and national parks, the frontier town of Glenorchy has provided the backdrop for many films including Lord of the Rings. Return back to you hotel in Queenstown. Overnight in hotel. (B)

Day 15: Queenstown to Dunedin

This morning travel from Alpine resort Queenstown following the historical Otago goldfields trail, continue your journey journey over viaducts and through the Central Otago hill country to Pukarangi before reaching the Scottish influenced city Dunedin(Entry Costs to Attractions, where applicable, is Not Included).

Late evening enjoy Dunedin Blue Penguin Tour (60 Minutes); Visit the Little Blue Penguin colony at Pukekura (Taiaroa Head), Dunedin. Your tour Will begin with an informative story about the cultural and social significance of the Pukekura area. You will then enter the penguin conservation area to view the endearing Little Blue Penguins – the world's smallest penguins. From the viewing platform you are able to watch them scurring up the beach to their
cliff-face burrows after a day out at sea. The conservation area is scattered with nesting burrows and is predator controlled, which allows young penguins to flourish. Tours run every evening from the Royal Albatross Centre on the picturesque Otago Peninsula.Overnight in hotel. (B)

Day 16: Dunedin to Christchurch

Explore Dunedin's most interesting sites and get a real taste of what the city has to offer. Scope out the city's main attractions, landmarks & culture. Discover Dunedin's unique place in the history of New Zealand. Dunedin city has many beautiful and interesting sights, most notable being the stunning block and stone buildings such as the much photographed Dunedin Railway Station, the Municipal Chambers, the Town Hall and Otago Boys High School to name a few. There are several churches within easy walking distance of the Octagon including St Pauls Cathedral, First Church, Knox Church and St Josephs Cathedral that are also well worth a visit.

Afternoon Travel north from the Scottish influenced city Dunedin towards historic Oamaru with it’s impressive stone buildings. Then follow the coastal road to the port city of Timaru and continue your journey across the Canterbury Plains before reaching Christchurch. Overnight in hotel. (B)

Day 17: Christchurch

Today travel around Christchurch covering the central city highlights including the botanical gardens, Museum and Art Centre, the Avon river, Bridge of Remembrance, the cities new pop up container mall and many other CBD highlights.  (Entry Costs to Attractions, where applicable, is Not Included).

Afternoon enjoy Punt & Tram ride Combo; Sink back into the velvet cushions of your boat as the Edwardian punter gently glides you down the Avon River, through the beautiful historic inner city of Christchurch. From the Park landing site, sit back and let your troubles melt away as you pass the trailing willows and leafy banks of the stunning Christchurch Botanic Gardens. Enjoy Tram Ride.

Day 18: Departure day

After breakfast Self-drive customers will travel their rental car, drop the car at airport branch and board your flight for onward journey (flight not included)
